I look forward to perform Vivaldi’s extravagant Concerto con molti strumenti (RV 558) with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maxim Emelyanychev. The performances will take place in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen. 

I am extremely glad to participate as a guest soloist in Dunedin Consort’s annual Schools Workshop Programme, which brings classical music to over 1000 children living in deprived areas of Scotland. Click here to find out more about the Programme.

I look forward to participate in the 19^th annual conference of the Hungarian Musicological Society, where I will deliver my paper titled Inspired by Everyday Theatricality: Courtly Behavioural Norms in the Performance Practice of Marco da Gagliano’s ‘La Dafne’.

I am glad to announce that our new disc ‘Variations on Choice and Longing: Madre non mi far monaca & Italian chamber cantatas’ with countertenor Meili Li, cellist Lucia Capellaro, and keyboard player Pawel Siwczak is now available to order and to stream. We have recorded this album a few years back and it is really nice to see it published now by the Hamburg-based label Huth-Records. I have recently premiered and recorded Nicholas Olsen’s new recorder concerto, Summer, alongside The Glasgow Barons, conducted by Paul MacAlindin. Nick’s fantastic piece was commissioned by Paul as part of a series of concertos titled Four Seasons in One Day – each written for a different solo instrument – intended to evoke local environmental shades. The three movements of Summer are inspired by a broad palette of images, including a swirling cacophony of birds, looming grey skies and cool air, and the exploration of glorious Scottish mountains. I am happy to announce that this year I will return to give an online guest lecture at McGill University. The title of my presentation will be Performing Courtly Ideals: Observations on Self-Presentation and Interaction in Early Modern Italian ‘drammi per musica’.
