I look forward to conduct an online masterclass for historical performance students at McGill University.

Premiere and recording of Nicholas Olsen’s recorder concerto

I have recently premiered and recorded Nicholas Olsen’s new recorder concerto, Summer, alongside The Glasgow Barons, conducted by Paul MacAlindin. Nick’s fantastic piece was commissioned by Paul as part of a series of concerti titled Four Seasons in One Day – each written for a different solo instrument – intended to evoke local environmental shades. The three movements in Summer are inspired by a broad palette of images, including a swirling cacophony of birds, looming grey skies and cool air, and the exploration of glorious Scottish mountains.
