BBC Music Introducing Artist

I am glad to announce that I have been selected as a BBC Music Introducing artist.

New album release

I am very pleased to announce that our new album ‘Rondeau Mélancolique’ with viol player Jonathan Rees and lutenist Alex McCartney is now available for order. Click here to purchase the record.

Opera Rara Festival performance

I look forward to perform John Blow’s Venus and Adonis and excerpts from Henry Purcell’s Fairy Queen with the fantastic Dunedin Consort directed by John Butt. The concert will take place on 13 February as part of Krakow’s Opera Rara Festival, and will be broadcast live on the Polish Radio.

Perth and Newcastle performances

I have two lovely recitals coming up with the fantastic Jan Waterfield in Perth and Newcastle on 6 and 23 November. In Perth Bach and Dieupart will be on our programme, and in Newcastle we will explore the art of diminutions.

Raynham Hall performance

A beautiful programme of Purcell songs and Blow’s Ode on the Death of Purcell is coming up in the magnificent Raynham Hall on 23 September! I very much look forward to perform with Michael and Alexander Chance again.

Monteverdi: Vespers CD release

Although only a minor contribution on my part, I really enjoyed being involved in recording Monteverdi’s Vespers with Dunedin Consort. Click here to purchase the album.

New album first edit

The first edit of our recent recording with viol player Jonathan Rees and lutenist Alex McCartney just arrived. Sounds like it is shaping up into a really exciting album! Stay tuned!

The English Suites of Charles Dieupart and Johann Sebastian Bach

I look forward to present an exciting new recital programme exploring the links between Dieupart and Bach’s ‘English Suites’ with the fantastic John Butt on harpsichord. Come along to the University of Glasgow’s lunchtime concert series if you want to experience some rarely heard French music and well-known pieces in a fresh light.

Album recording

From 1 to 3 November I will work on a new recording of French repertoire with viol player Jonathan Rees and lutenist Alex McCartney. The album will be released on the label Veterum Musica in the second half of 2017. Stay tuned!

Conference of the Hungarian Musicological Society

I am glad to return to Budapest and present a paper as part of the Hungarian Musicological Society’s 13th annual conference. I will present my paper Artifizio Senz’Arte: Towards a musical interpretation of an early-modern sociological ideal on 14 October.
